GREENE COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation announce a road closure on State Road 54 near Springville for a slide correction project.

Beginning on or around Monday, Aug. 17, contractors will close S.R. 58 about a mile east of the north junction of S.R. 45 to replace a box culvert. This project will require a full excavation and road closure. During this operation local traffic will have access up to the point of closure.
Work is expected to last until mid-September, depending upon weather conditions. All through traffic should use the official detour following S.R. 45 and S.R. 54. INDOT urges drivers to slow down and stay alert near crews.

Jeff "Pedro" Stockrahm, 71, of Vicksburg, peacefully entered Heaven at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, where he was reunited with his beloved wife, Leann, and those who went before him. Born on February 10, 1955, in Sullivan, he was the son of Carl and Alice Jean (Bedwell) Stockrahm.

Charles "Les" McAnally, 86, of Hymera, IN passed away at 9:15 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born January 28, 1940 in Sullivan County, IN to Samuel McAnally and Hazel (Dean) McAnally.
