Greene County Humane Society joins 275+ shelters participating in “Empty the Shelters – HolidayHope” event

Linton, Ind. — BISSELL Pet Foundation, a national animal welfare organization dedicated to ending pet homelessness, is bringing hope to the nation’s shelter pets this holiday season with its “Empty the
Shelters – Holiday Hope” adoption event Dec. 1 – 11. BISSELL Pet Foundation sponsors reduced adoption fees of $50 or less per cat or dog during each nationwide event. This event will be hosted in more than 275 shelters in 43 states, including the Greene County Humane Society.

When officers arrived at an apartment in Worthington where a man was allegedly attacking his mother, he refused to open the door but they could hear a woman yelling and they kicked the door in and found him armed with a screwdriver and a dog chain wrapped around his hand. When an officer from the Department of Homeland Security attempted to execute a search warrant for the cell phone of a Greene County woman, she tried to get away from him and escape with her phone. A warrant was issued earlier today for her arrest. UPDATE with ARREST: The woman who was wanted on a warrant for obstruction of justice and failure to cooperate with a Department of Homeland Security officer has been arrested.
