The persistence of a Greene County officer in tracking a wanted man on the run out-of-state for well over a year has resulted in the arrest in Mississippi of Levi Cody Snowden, now 23, formerly of Linton. Snowden has three warrants out for his arrest in Greene County in three separate criminal cases.
In one of those cases, former GCSD Detective Jim O’Malley, who now serves as Worthington Town Marshal, was the lead investigator into a burglary that occurred in January of 2019 in southwestern Greene County. Several other GCSD deputies, an ISP Trooper and other officers assisted in the investigation.

O’Malley said Snowden and another man, Kevin Misner, now 24, formerly from Bicknell, broke into the home of a military veteran and his family, ransacked the home and took thousands of dollars worth of items including items from the man’s military life.
Both men were arrested and charged with the burglary after DNA testing linked them to an item that was tossed away on the scene.
Misner has since been convicted and sentenced to the Indiana Department of Corrections (DOC). By late September of 2019, Misner admitted guilt and was convicted of burglary of a dwelling, a Level 4 felony. He was sentenced to ten years in prison with three years suspended. He was given credit for 75 days already served and transferred into DOC custody. Misner is currently incarcerated in the DOC’s Branchville Correctional Facility with a projected released date in September of 2024.
But Snowden bonded out of jail and got into more trouble. He was arrested again, bonded out, and this time he took off out-of-state. Since then, three warrants have been issued for his arrest and his whereabouts were unknown, until this week.
O’Malley continued to look for Snowden and this week, he located Snowden in Mississippi and sent information to the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department. O’Malley said Snowden was taken into custody last night, Thursday, April 8.
Records show as of mid-day today, Friday, April 9, Snowden is incarcerated in the Lauderdale County Detention Facility in Meridian, Mississippi.
It’s expected that Snowden will be extradited back to Greene County to face charges here, but it’s unknown if Snowden might be facing any new charges in Mississippi incident to his arrest.
