Gregory Lee Roach

Gregory Lee Roach, 52, Shelbyville, was arrested by Officer Alan Jackson of the Linton Police Department on Wednesday, August 3.

Officer Jackson and Officer Cayden Walker were dispatched to the Taco Bell restaurant in Linton around 10:13 PM on Wednesday, August 3, about a man and woman who were reportedly harassing drive-through employees of the McDonald's restaurant earlier and were now walking around Taco Bell.

When they arrived, the man was identified as Gregory Roach and the officers noticed an object that appeared to be a smoking device sticking out of his front right watch pocket.

Roach allegedly admitted it was a “weed pipe” and he handed the pipe over to Officer Jackson who handcuffed him and placed him under arrest. During a search prior to transport, Roach was allegedly found to have a zip bag containing a green plant material in the same pocket.

Roach was booked into the Greene County Jail at 11:04 PM with bond set at $1000 surety with 10% cash allowed. He posted $100 and was released on August 4 with an initial hearing set for Monday, August 15.

Roach has been charged with possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor, and possession of paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor.
