A domestic altercation in Linton led to the arrest of a man accused of threatening to kill a woman, spitting on her and throwing a trash can at her which caused a gash that required medical attention.

Anthony Michael Hamm, 32, Vincennes, was arrested by Sgt. Logan Hobbs of the Linton Police Department on Sunday night, May 24.
Sgt. Hobbs was dispatched to Greene County General Hospital before 8 p.m. that night when he was notified a woman was there with a cut on her arm as a result with an altercation with Hamm.
When Sgt. Hobbs talked to the woman, she said when she told Hamm he needed to move out of her residence in Linton, he threatened to kill her and bury her body in the backyard if she made him leave. She said during the altercation, Hamm threw a trash can at her which caused the cut.
When Sgt. Hobbs talked to Hamm at the police department, he said the altercation was over money and he allegedly admitted holding the woman down by the back of her neck and said he spit on her. He allegedly admitted throwing the trash can and said he regretted hurting her. He denied threatening to kill the woman.
Hamm was booked into the Greene County Jail around 10 p.m. His bond was set at $5,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. He posted $500 and was released the next day.
Hamm is scheduled to appear in Greene Superior Court on June 11 for an initial hearing.
He is facing preliminary charges of:
Intimidation – threat is to commit a forcible felony, a Level 6 felony,
Domestic battery, a Class A misdemeanor, and
Domestic battery by bodily waste, a Class A misdemeanor.

She was born on February 9, 1941 in Terre Haute, Indiana to Max Earl and Cordy ‘Berti’ (Lashbrook) Hopkins. Micki married the love of her life, Jerry D. Church on October 11, 1959.
Justin David Sprang, age 20, of Linton, passed away due to an accident, at 8:45 PM on Saturday, February 22, 2025. Justin was born, along with his twin brother Jared, on December 21, 2004, the son of David Michael and Shelley Ann (Fisher) Sprang.
