Stephanie Nicole Jackson, 31, Linton, was arrested early last Tuesday, July 14, by Officer Kyle Robison of the Linton Police Department.

Last Tuesday, a silver Chevrolet Malibu, that had been reported as stolen out of Louisville, Ky., was located in a driveway on 10th Street NE in Linton.

When Officer Robison, the investigating officer, made contact with someone at that location, Stephanie Jackson told him her boyfriend had driven the car from Kentucky to her house back in June. She said her boyfriend was not there, but she had the keys to the car in her house. She allowed officers to step inside where she handed them the keys.

When she was asked to show officers around the house so they could look for her boyfriend, she declined, saying she had weed in the house. When asked again, she asked if she could put her weed up first. Then she denied consent again, and allegedly said there was a gram of meth in her bedroom, but it wasn’t hers.

Officer Robison reported that a search warrant was requested and when executed, officers found a number of items in Jackson’s bedroom including: a smoking device with white residue that field-tested positive for the presence of methamphetamine, wrapped foil containing a white crystal substance, plastic wrap with white residue, a plastic baggie with plant material that field-tested positive as marijuana, another smoking device with burnt residue, and one with white residue. In the bathroom attached to the bedroom, they located a plastic container with more plant material, another smoking device and another plastic baggie with white residue.

Jackson was taken into custody and booked into the Greene County Jail at 3:56 a.m. She was being held without bond pending court appearance – date of her initial hearing not yet known. As of late Monday, she was still in jail.

Jackson is facing preliminary charges of:

  • Possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony,

  • Possession of marijuana, a Class A misdemeanor, and

  • Possession of paraphernalia with a prior conviction, a Class A misdemeanor.
