Linton woman accused of dealing methamphetamine following execution of search warrant
/A Linton woman faces multiple felony drug charges after investigators executed a search warrant at her residence and allegedly recovered approximately one ounce of methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and a firearm.
Samantha L. Shidler, 27, was arrested June 30 following the execution of a search warrant at her residence on E Street SE in Linton.
Shidler faces the following preliminary charges:
Dealing in methamphetamine (10 grams or more), a Level 2 felony
Possession of methamphetamine with an enhancing circumstance, a Level 5 felony
Possession of paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor
Possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor
According to a probable cause affidavit, officers with the Linton Police Department had been investigating Shidler's alleged involvement in dealing methamphetamine before obtaining a search warrant for her residence on June 30.
When officers executed the warrant, they found Shidler and three other individuals — including a child — in the residence.
Court documents state officers located Shidler in a bedroom where they also found her wallet, identification, and cell phone, along with other personal belongings, indicating the room belonged to her.
Investigators reported finding a plate containing a crystal-like substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine. Officers also discovered a pink cosmetic bag beneath the bed containing two plastic bags of suspected methamphetamine, which field-tested positive and weighed approximately one ounce, including packaging.
According to the affidavit, the cosmetic bag also contained plastic baggies, drug paraphernalia, and a jar containing a wax-like substance that field-tested positive for marijuana. Officers also recovered digital scales with suspected methamphetamine residue from a bedside table.
Police additionally located a .22-caliber rifle inside the residence. According to the affidavit, Shidler later admitted the firearm belonged to her.
During an interview with investigators, Shidler allegedly admitted to obtaining quarter-pound quantities of methamphetamine from a supplier regularly, according to court documents.
Investigators also examined Shidler's cell phone and reported finding multiple conversations they believe were related to drug transactions. Based on the quantity of methamphetamine recovered, the packaging materials, digital scales, and statements allegedly made by Shidler, investigators concluded the drugs were possessed with the intent to deliver.
Shidler was booked into the Greene County Jail on June 30. She is being held without bond.
