Jasonville man arrested on methamphetamine charges following drug investigation
/A Jasonville man found inside a Linton residence during the execution of a drug-related search warrant has been charged with possession of methamphetamine.
Ronald Helton was arrested June 30 following the execution of a search warrant at a residence on E Street SE in Linton.
Helton faces a preliminary charge of possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony.
According to a probable cause affidavit, officers with the Linton Police Department executed a search warrant as part of an ongoing investigation into the alleged distribution of methamphetamine at the residence.
When officers entered the home, they found Helton along with three other individuals — including a child — inside the residence.
Court documents state Helton was located in a bedroom with another individual, where officers discovered a plate containing a crystal-like substance in plain view. The substance later field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
Investigators also reported locating approximately one ounce of suspected methamphetamine beneath the bed, along with digital scales, plastic baggies, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and a .22-caliber rifle elsewhere in the residence. Those items are alleged to have been connected to others who were arrested as part of the investigation.
Helton was arrested and transported to the Greene County Jail. He’s currently being held without bond.
