Linton man accused of domestic battery
/A criminal charge was filed today against a Linton man who was accused of domestic battery and arrested on July 3. He posted bond and was released from jail on the fourth of July.
Rodger L. Wilson, Jr., 35, Linton, formerly from Bloomfield, was arrested by Officer Alan Jackson of the Linton Police Department on Saturday night, July 3.
According to Officer Jackson, on July 3, a woman went to the police department to report her husband had been “putting hands on her” over the previous three months and it got a lot worse on Friday night, July 2. She said he grabbed her arm and was smacking her head, then her hands and feet went numb.
The woman recorded the altercation that night and provided it to police. Officer Jackson reported that when he listened to the recording, he could hear the woman telling Wilson that he had hit her so hard she could barely walk, then he heard Wilson say, “I didn’t hit you, I threw you on the ground.”
The woman’s injuries, including bruising on an arm, were documented.
When officers located Wilson, he allegedly denied throwing the woman on the ground and he denied doing anything to her. He allegedly said the woman was throwing things at him, he told her to leave him alone, and that he was just defending himself.
Wilson was taken into custody and transported to the Greene County Jail where he was booked in at 8:52 p.m. with bond set at $1,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. He posted $100 and was released from jail on July 4.
A criminal case was filed against Wilson earlier today, July 8, on a preliminary charge of domestic battery, a Class A misdemeanor.
