Information for Election Day on Tuesday, November 3

Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, with options for early voting in these last few days. The Greene County Voter Registration Office has provided some information for Election Day and a list of candidates that will be on the ballot.

The last day to request an absentee ballot has passed and all absentee ballots have been sent to all who requested one. If you still need to return an absentee ballot, it can be dropped off at the Voter Registration Office in the Greene County Courthouse or if it’s going to be mailed in, keep in mind it must be received in the Voter Registration Office no later than 12 noon on Tuesday, November 3.

From now through this Friday, October 30, citizens can vote early in the Greene County Courthouse from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.

On Saturday, October 31, early voting will be available the Greene County Courthouse and at the Roy Clark Building in Linton’s Humphreys Park. Open hours will be 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in both locations.

Monday, November 2, will be the last day to vote early in the Greene County Courthouse between the hours of 8 a.m. and 12 noon.

Tuesday, November 3, is Election Day. There will be 10 voting centers open in Greene County and citizens can vote at any of the 10 locations, no matter where they reside in the county. The polls will be open from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Some things will be different this year, due to necessary COVID-19 precautions. According to the Greene County Voter Registration Office and Greene County Clerk Stewart Dowden:

  • They will be following state guidelines on distancing, sanitizing and facial protection.

  • They will have more machines at each vote center so lines should move quicker.

  • Absentee ballots that are received will remain sealed and locked in cabinets until Election Day.

  • Hand sanitizer, disinfectant, masks and gloves will be available at all polling locations and voting machines will be routinely wiped down with disinfectant.

  • Protective gloves and masks will be worn by poll workers and voters are encouraged to wear them too.

  • When signing the poll pad, voters will need to use a stylus (that will be provided) instead of their finger.
