Scott Dale Henico, 59, Linton, was in court last week, charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Class C misdemeanor.

Henico was arrested on Thursday, October 1, by Officer John Agan of the Linton Police Department. His bond was set at $4,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. He posted $400 and was released, ordered to appear in court last week.

Around 6:30 p.m. on that Thursday, Henico went to the Smokers Host, also known as The Beer Cave, on A Street NW in Linton and tried to purchase alcohol, but an employee suspected he was intoxicated and refused to sell to him. The employee called police when Henico allegedly got into the driver’s seat of a blue Pontiac passenger car and drove away.

Officer Agan was dispatched and located the vehicle driving very slowly on 5th Street NW. The vehicle turned west on Glenburn Road then south on Grant Street and into a residential driveway.

Officer Agan reported when Henico got out of the vehicle, he was stumbling, unsteady and exhibiting several signs of impairment. The officer said when they were speaking, Henico used the front of the patrol vehicle to maintain balance and he had to hold on to Henico multiple times to keep him from falling.

Henico failed field sobriety testing, was transported to the police department where he reportedly failed again. A chemical breath test resulted in insufficient samples so Henico was transported to Greene County General Hospital for a blood draw – results pending.
