Filing period now open for county school board positions

Do you want to make a difference in the lives of students as a member of your local school board? The period to file for a school board position for November’s General Election has opened and will remain open until June 20 at 12 p.m. 

Those interested in filing their candidacy can do so at the Greene County Voter Registration Office in the Greene County Courthouse. Any questions should be directed to the Voter Registration Office at 812-384-2015 or registration@co.greene.in.us. 

The board member positions that are up for election are as follows:

Shakamak:

  • District 1—Lewis Township

  • District 3—Wright Township

Linton-Stockton:

  • District 1—City

  • District 2—Township

Eastern Greene:

  • At-Large—Four seats

White River Valley School:

  • District 1—Washington 1 and 2

  • District 3—Grant and Smith

  • District 5—Jefferson 1

Bloomfield:

  • District 1—Richland Township

  • District 2—Highland Township

  • District 3—Taylor Township

  • District 4—At Large, two seats
