John L. Carr, age 70, of Jasonville, formerly Linton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at his residence. He was born in Linton on July 11, 1954, the son of Bert M. and Meredith (Goodman) Carr.

John was a 1972 graduate of Linton-Stockton High School. He was a life-long farmer, enjoying working many years on equipment and caring for his family farm.

He was a member of Faithway Bible Church in Worthington, Linton Masonic Lodge #560, and the Terre Haute Scottish Rite.

John is survived by his wife whom he married on September 2, 2023, Nancy J. (Pierce) Fougerousse Carr; twin brother, Jack Carr of Linton; three step-children, Anna (Shad) Schoppert of Anchorage, Alaska, Kristina (Rodrigo) Avila of Jasonville, and Larissa (Garrett) Pouch of Ingalls, Indiana; eight grandchildren, Reyna Avila, Timothy Avila, Isabella Avila, Braeden Schoppert, Alethia Schoppert, Ethan Schoppert, Finn Pouch, and Theodore Pouch; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 6, 2024, with Pastor Terry Dowell officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-7 PM with Masonic Service at 7 PM, and Friday from 10 AM until the time of service.
