A Bloomfield woman claimed a boyfriend hit her and he said she hit him. After an officer listened to different stories and saw the red marks on his face, the woman wound up in jail.
Shiane Barnhart
Shiane Georgina Barnhart, 23, Bloomfield, was arrested last Friday night by Bloomfield Deputy Marshal Jordan Allor.
Officer Allor responded around 9:15 p.m. that night to talk to a man who said Barnhart had hit him in the face. He allegedly said Barnhart had been his girlfriend and the two were in a Bloomfield restaurant when they got into an argument about her drinking while she was pregnant.
He said he left her there when Barnhart became belligerent. He allegedly told the officer he had had enough and he dropped her belongings off at the home of a family member of Barnhart. But they asked him to go pick her up and give her a ride home.
Allor reported the man did pick her up, but he said when he was dropping her off, she punched him on the right side of his face several times. Allor said the right side of the man’s face was red.
Allor also talked with Barnhart who allegedly said the man had hit her.
Both told different stories, but Barnhart was the one who was placed under arrest and transported to the Greene County Jail where her bond was set at $500 surety with ten percent allowed.
Barnhart has since posted $50 cash and been released. She is scheduled to appear in Greene Superior Court later this month on a preliminary charge of battery, a Class B misdemeanor.
