Bloomfield man accused of shoving a woman to the ground in domestic dispute
/A Bloomfield man arrested in July after a domestic dispute turned physical was arrested Tuesday after police were called to yet another domestic dispute turned physical at the same residence.
Devin Joseph Waggoner, 32, Bloomfield, was taken into custody early Tuesday by Bloomfield Town Marshal Ken Tharp after Tharp responded to a domestic dispute on South Washington Street on Monday.
When Tharp arrived at the residence, he talked to a witness who said both of the individuals involved in the dispute had left the house. The witness said Waggoner and a female victim were outside the house when a verbal altercation became physical. He said he saw Waggoner push the woman to the ground then they both were pushing and shoving each other as they walked to the house.
The witness said he walked to the back door, which was left open, and when he stuck his head inside, he could hear the woman crying and hear Waggoner yelling. He said when the woman came to the door, Waggoner took off out the front door and left on foot. He said he waited with the woman until friends picked her up.
When Tharp saw Waggoner walking in Bloomfield on Tuesday, Waggoner was arrested and taken to jail.
During an interview at the sheriff’s department, Waggoner allegedly admitted that he had had shoved the woman and that she fell to the ground. He said they were in an argument over doing chores around the house.
When Tharp talked to the woman, she also said they were arguing over household chores and when it became physical, he shoved her to the ground. She told the officer that when they were inside the house, the witness came over to ask if she was okay and Waggoner took off out the front.
In the previous incident, Waggoner was arrested by BPD Deputy Marshal Jordan Allor on July 25 after another physical altercation turned physical. In that case, Waggoner was reported to have left the residence but once outside, he got into an argument with another person, someone started swinging and there was a fight.
In the previous case, Waggoner was charged with disorderly conduct, engaging in fighting or tumultuous conduct - a Class B misdemeanor. He bonded out of jail for $100 cash and the case is still pending.
In the newest case, Waggoner’s bond was set at $1,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. He was released after posting $100 cash and was given a court date of October 1 to appear in Greene Superior Court for an initial hearing on a new charge of battery resulting in bodily injury – a Class A misdemeanor.
