Michael Ray Rhodenbeck, a long time resident of Orlando Florida who grew up in Linton left this life Friday, September 20, 2019. Mike came into this world August 10, 1954 and was the first born child of Helen "Jo" Moehlmann Rhodenbeck and E. Butler Rhodenbeck of Linton.

His loving and devoted wife Pam was by his side as she had been the entire 18 years of his fierce battle against cancer. Mike's diagnosis those many years ago brought to him an intense desire to live, and is a testament to the power and strength of the human spirit. It also brought him back to a spiritual life that found him in church on most Sundays and often reading the Bible. He was re-baptized as an adult in the church in Linton, Saron United Church of Christ, where he was christened as an infant. His new found faith served him well to his last breath.

Mike spent the first two years of his life with his parents in Rantoul, IL where Butler was serving in the Air Force. Upon returning to Linton, Mike and his siblings, Melynda and Brian were raised on North Main Street in two different houses. Though, at times, a challenging child, Mike will be remembered by his peers as a stand-out baseball player in the Babe Ruth League, and as a real character whose tales will live on in infamy! Mike graduated from Linton High School in 1972. After graduating Mike made his living as a master carpenter and concrete specialist, both in Indiana and Florida. He retired in 2001 after his cancer diagnosis.

Mike married his best friend and love of his life, Pamla Wallace on February 19, 1982 at the Saron Church in Linton. Together, they have 3 children; Amy Young Gray of Georgia, formerly of Martinsville, Sara (Marco) Larenas and Calvin (Arlene) Rhodenbeck of Orlando. Mike adored their 6 grandchildren; Kaite, Isaiah and Josiah Gray, Malena Larenas, Rayne and Shannon Rhodenbeck and siblings, Melynda (Steve) Reichart and Brian (Becky) Rhodenbeck all of Linton; nieces and nephews, Dane Perigo, Nikki Rhodenbeck and Kelly Hunt; two great nephews; three great nieces and eight cousins.

He is preceded in death by his father, E. Butler Rhodenbeck; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Margaret and Jack Wallace; grandparents, Calvin and Eunice Rhodenbeck & Alfred and Helen Moehlmann; aunts and uncles, Aurellia and Ray Hartman, Harold and Vera Moehlmann, Avery and Margaret Moehlmann, Jane and Arnold Sargent and Alfred and Patricia Moehlmann; nephew, Sean Michael Stephens; sister-in-law, Mina Hunt and niece, Tracie Hunt and two cousins, Sue Moehlmann and Jennie Moehlmann.

Mike would want to be remembered in death as he was in life; a man who loved his wife and who was proud of his children and grandchildren; A man of spirit and faith; a man who believed in second chances; a man who loved Notre Dame Football; one who loved cars, just as his father did; one who enjoyed innumerable friendships, who took pride in his work, loved the 4th of July, a man who was and is an unforgettable character. A man who showed us all the strength of the human spirit and the power of prayer. He will remain in our hearts always.
