New entries on the morning Jail Log at the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2024:

Jan. 22, 10:09 AM, Tristan Stephens Dew, 27, Levant, ME, was arrested on preliminary charges of burglary, theft, and criminal mischief. He was held on a surety only bond. Greene County Sheriff’s Department Det. Shawn Cullison was the arresting officer. 

Jan. 22, 8:50 PM, Caitlin Rose Carpenter, 22, Worthington, was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a hypodermic needle or syringe, and maintaining a common nuisance. She was held without bond. Greene County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Jordan Allor was the arresting officer.

Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Individuals are booked into jail on warrants issued by courts or on “preliminary charges” based on recommendations of investigating or arresting officers. Charges may change when a new case is filed in court by the prosecutor who reviews the case and makes the charging decision.
