A suspect accused of stealing sandwiches from a convenience store was arrested on Sunday after a Bloomfield officer found him face down and unresponsive in a street nearby. The sandwiches and a bottle of Tito’s were also found in the street.

Brandon Criss, 34, and Devon Nichols, 17, both from Linton, appeared in Greene Superior Court this afternoon and have been charged with the March 17 murder of John P. Chapman. The case of Nichols, 16 at the time of the murder, has been automatically waived into adult court.

A Bloomfield woman was arrested by a BPD officer after a caller reported a driver was all over the roadway north of Bloomfield. The caller, and witness to the incident, just happened to be Greene County’s Chief Deputy Prosecutor. Last week a special prosecutor was appointed to handle the case.
