Frederick M. ‘Fritz’ Rohrmayer
/Frederick M. ‘Fritz’ Rohrmayer, 79, of Sandborn, Indiana, went to Heaven, with his loving family by his side at his home, on Thursday, September 26, 2024. He was born on September 5, 1945 in Linton, Indiana to Henry and Mary (Koren) Rohrmayer. Fritz married the love of his life, Susan M. (Chandler) Rohrmayer on December 5, 1975.
Fritz was a US Air Force Vietnam Veteran, serving as a Sergeant and was of the Christian faith. He was a member of the American Legion Post #22, VFW Post #7118 and UMWA District #11. Fritz was a coal miner at Peabody Coal Co., retiring with 24 years of service. He was a Gideon and sponsored children in other countries. He enjoyed donating monetarily for service work in Haiti. His hobbies included welding, fishing, hunting, being outdoors and building structures.
Family left to cherish the memories of Fritz include: his wife, Susan Rohrmayer; son, Brandon (Caroline) Rohrmayer of Terre Haute; two daughters, Amber Rohrmayer of Atlanta, GA and Megan (Sean) Rhea of Arizona; three grandsons, Hudson and Bennett Rohrmayer, Hunter James Rhea; three sisters, Kathy (Butch) Calvin of Sandborn, Elizabeth ‘Liz’ (Pat) Haussin and Wil Sanburn, both of Linton.
Fritz was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services to honor the life of Fritz will be at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton with Pastor Craig Moore officiating. Military Graveside Rites will be presented by Chaplain Jeff Fulk and American Legion Post #22 at Stafford Cemetery in Sandborn immediately following.
Family and friends may call from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
