Rural Bloomfield woman accused of battery on another woman
/A rural Bloomfield woman was arrested Monday morning after a disagreement with another woman escalated. She’s accused of hitting the other woman numerous times with a closed fist.
Linda Kay Holderman, 51, Bloomfield, was arrested by Deputy James Carpenter of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on Monday morning, April 5.
Deputy Carpenter was dispatched at 7:09 a.m. Monday along with GCSD Det. Shawn Cullison and Indiana State Police Trooper Richard Klun to a residence on North Fire Station Road, rural Bloomfield, after a woman reported she had been battered by Holderman.
The woman had been staying at the residence for four days and Holderman, who lived at the residence with her boyfriend who was the visitor’s father, wanted the woman out and said she’d had problems with the woman.
Holderman and the woman had been in a verbal argument and when the woman went outside, Holderman locked her out. When the woman was let back in, the altercation became physical and Holderman allegedly admitted she pushed the woman and hit her with a closed fist.
Holderman’s boyfriend, who was present during the incident, recorded everything on video and Deputy Carpenter was able to view the video. Deputy Carpenter reported the video shows Holderman yelling at the woman, then striking her with a closed fist while pulling the woman’s hair. When the woman bent over, Holderman continued hitting the woman with a closed fist then pushed her away.
Holderman was booked into the Greene County Jail at 8:55 a.m. Her bond was set at $1,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. She has since posted $100 and been released.
Holderman is facing a preliminary charge of battery, a Class B misdemeanor. Her initial hearing is scheduled for next Monday afternoon, April 12.
