One arrested after fight with screaming and cursing in Bloomfield

A report of a fight resulted in the July 14 arrest of a 40-year-old Plainfield man on charges of intimidation and disorderly conduct.

JASON RAINBOLT

Officer Cody Loncaric of the Bloomfield Police Department was dispatched to North Washington Street in Bloomfield where a citizen reported he could hear neighbors yelling.

When arriving on scene, Loncaric, still in his vehicle at the time, was approached by a male, later identified as Jason Dale Rainbolt, making statements about assaulting him. Upon exiting his vehicle, Loncaric wrote in a probable cause affidavit that Rainbolt said he knew his civil rights and was leaving the scene. Loncaric told Rainbolt he was not leaving until the incident was investigated.

A male witness at the scene said he believed Rainbolt had consumed alcoholic beverages during the day. While speaking to Rainbolt previously, Loncaric noted he could smell the odor of alcoholic beverages coming from his breath. Despite damage to an end table in the house as well as miscellaneous items scattered across a coffee table and floor, the male witness denied any physical altercation between him and Rainbolt.

While talking to the male witness, Loncaric noticed Rainbolt’s behavior as erratic. He refused Deputy Michael Stanley of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department’s commands to sit down. Deputy Stanley had to assist Rainbolt in walking over a stone ledge in the yard. As Rainbolt approached the ledge walking backwards, he fell over the ledge onto the ground as Deputy Stanley had stopped assisting at this time.

A female witness at the scene said Rainbolt had been yelling and cursing at her earlier in the day and was told he could not stay at the residence if he was going to behave that way. When she asked him if he had been drinking, she said he became more aggressive. While speaking to the witness, Officer Loncaric could hear Rainbolt yelling obscenities, including “you’re a f*****g p***y” at other officers on the scene.

Deputy Kelly Hutchens of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department warned Rainbolt if he continued with his behavior, he would be charged with disorderly conduct.

Deputy Stanley placed Rainbolt in the back of his police cruiser and advised him to be quiet so that officers could investigate the incident. Rainbolt refused to comply, screaming when officers would attempt to talk to those involved at the scene.

When arriving at the jail and entering booking, Rainbolt continued yelling obscenities at officers. He yelled, “I can f*****g beat your a**” at Officer Loncaric among other obscene comments. All of this was captured on Officer Loncaric’s body cam.

Rainbolt refused to enter his jail cell and had to be assisted into the cell by jail officers. Once in his cell, he began to strike the wall with his right hand.

He was charged with:

  • Intimidation, a Level 6 Felony

  • Disorderly Conduct, a Class B Misdemeanor

His bond was set at $5,000 surety with 10 percent cash allowed.
