Linton man faces multiple felony charges following domestic incident, pursuit, and drug seizure

A Linton man faces numerous felony charges following a reported domestic incident, vehicle pursuit and the discovery of drugs and firearms earlier this month.

According to court documents, Shadow Lee Kendall, 37, was arrested following a Feb. 6 incident that began with a 911 call reporting a domestic disturbance involving a firearm.

At approximately 7:36 a.m., Linton Police Department received a call from a female. Dispatchers reported the caller was screaming and uncooperative, and at one point another female advised that Kendall had taken a juvenile to school and would be returning. The victim was reportedly heard stating she had a gun held to her head.

Officers responded to the residence, where the victim reported that Kendall had become angry, damaged property and pointed a silver revolver at her head while threatening to kill her. The victim also stated Kendall wielded a hatchet during the altercation before leaving the residence with a juvenile shortly before police arrived.

A witness told officers she observed Kendall outside the residence swinging the hatchet and making threats. The witness also reported seeing a firearm in Kendall’s waistband.

Police later located Kendall driving a dark blue Chevrolet Trailblazer near Linton schools.

When officers attempted a traffic stop, Kendall allegedly fled, leading police on a pursuit through Linton and into Worthington. Authorities reported speeds reached approximately 90 mph, with Kendall driving left of center, passing in no-passing zones, and disregarding traffic controls.

The pursuit ended in Worthington when Kendall failed to negotiate a turn at U.S. 231 and East Union Street, leaving the roadway and striking a tree. Officers blocked the vehicle to prevent further flight. Kendall reportedly resisted arrest and was subdued using Tasers before being taken into custody.

During a search, officers located suspected marijuana on Kendall’s person. A subsequent search of the vehicle — conducted after a warrant was obtained — revealed more than 140 grams of suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, a Hi-Point handgun, a .38-caliber revolver, ammunition and a hatchet matching witness descriptions.

Damage from the crash reportedly included fencing and a satellite dish, resulting in additional property loss.

Court records indicate Kendall was previously convicted in 2023 of domestic battery with a deadly weapon, making him a serious violent felon prohibited from possessing firearms.

Kendall now faces multiple charges, including domestic battery, intimidation-defendant draws or uses a deadly weapon, intimidation-threat to commit a forcible felony, resisting law enforcement using a vehicle, criminal recklessness committed with a deadly weapon, resisting law enforcement using a vehicle, dealing in methamphetamine-between five and 10 grams, possession of marijuana, and unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon.
