Car Fire Extinguished near I-69 roundabout on State Road 445

At approximately 7:20 p.m. Sunday, units with the Eastern Greene Fire Territory were dispatched to State Road 445 at the Interstate 69 off-ramp roundabout for a reported vehicle fire.

Upon arrival, Engine 31 found the vehicle with smoke and flames visible. Firefighters deployed an attack line and were able to quickly knock down the fire.

The Monroe Fire Protection District assisted on scene. The Greene County Ambulance Service was requested to evaluate the vehicle’s occupant for possible smoke inhalation.

Additional assistance was provided by Owensburg Auto and the Greene County Sheriff’s Department.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
