Drug, OWI charges filed after vehicle found running in Solsberry
/A 33-year-old Bloomington woman was arrested late Sunday night after deputies with the Greene County Sheriff’s Office reportedly found her slumped over in a running vehicle and later discovered cocaine and drug paraphernalia during an investigation.
According to a probable cause affidavit, a deputy observed a beige 2005 Ford Escape parked in a lot on North Greene County Line Road at approximately 11:35 p.m. Feb. 8. Sgt. Jordan Allor reported seeing a woman, later identified as Sierra M. Sullivan, sitting in the driver’s seat and slumped toward the passenger side. The vehicle was reportedly running and in neutral.
As Allor approached the vehicle, an open container of Fireball whiskey was allegedly observed on the front passenger seat. Allor also reported Sullivan was holding a folded piece of paper in one hand and a lighter in the other. After knocking on the window, Sullivan awoke and was instructed to turn off the vehicle and exit.
While speaking with Sullivan, Allor noted she appeared unsteady, had difficulty following directions and had the odor of an alcoholic beverage on her breath, according to court documents. Sullivan told the Aloor she had stopped at the location because she felt “groggy” and was waiting to feel clear-headed before driving.
When asked about the folded paper in her hand, Sullivan reportedly told the deputy it was trash and handed it over. The paper allegedly contained a white rock-like substance that later field-tested positive for cocaine. Allor also reported locating a glass smoking device with residue that field-tested positive for cocaine inside the vehicle, along with a silver spoon containing a white powdery substance that did not test positive for drugs.
Sullivan reportedly admitted to consuming alcohol earlier in the evening but declined to submit to a preliminary breath test and a chemical test. A search warrant was later obtained for a blood draw, which was conducted at Greene County General Hospital during the early morning hours of Feb. 9.
Following the blood draw, Sullivan was transported to the Greene County Jail. She was charged with possession of cocaine, a Level 6 felony; operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a misdemeanor; and possession of paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.
Sgt. Allor was assisted at the scene by Greene County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Brandon DeMier.
Sullivan is scheduled to appear in Greene Superior Court Feb. 12 for an initial hearing.
