Linton man accused of public intoxication in Jasonville
/A Linton man who was reported to be screaming, yelling and staggering in a Jasonville street was arrested and is due in court in the morning to face a charge of public intoxication.
William Quinn Dicus, 26, Linton, was arrested by Officer Dustin Cain of the Jasonville Police Department on Saturday night, November 7. Dicus is scheduled to be in court for an initial hearing in the morning, Thursday, November 19.
Officer Cain was dispatched to an area on North Park Street in Jasonville after a caller reported a man was outside screaming and yelling near the railroad tracks.
When Officer Cain arrived, got out of his patrol vehicle and walked toward the tracks, he heard a man hollering then saw the man walking east on Gray Street. He got back in his vehicle and drove closer to him near the intersection of Gray and Grant streets. Officer Cain said the man was staggering while walking in the road.
The man was identified as Dicus, who said he was missing his wife and was mad because he didn’t know her bond or why she was even arrested. He was allegedly slurring his speech but said that was why he was yelling and screaming.
When Officer Cain asked Dicus if he had been drinking, Dicus allegedly said that was a stupid question as he lifted each leg and then touched his nose.
Dicus allegedly admitted he drank a fifth of Fireball and more than half of his wife’s alcohol. He registered .127 on a portable breath test and was placed under arrest and transported to the Greene County Jail where he was booked in at 8:40 p.m.
His bond was set at $500 surety with ten percent cash allowed. He posted $50 and was released the next day.
Dicus is facing a charge of public intoxication that endangers life, a Class B misdemeanor.
