Amber Jo Rigsby, 34, Jasonville, was arrested by Officer Joe Riley of the Linton Police Department. Rigsby was booked into the Greene County Jail at 12:28 a.m. on Sunday, March 14, following a traffic stop around 11 p.m. Saturday, March 13.

Officer Riley initiated a traffic stop on a silver Chrysler Sebring with only one functioning headlight in the area of West State Road 54 and County Road 150 North.

Rigsby was the driver. Officer Riley said she was extremely nervous and acting suspiciously during the stop. LPD Officer Adam King arrived to assist and Officer Riley deployed his K9 partner Kona to sniff the air around the vehicle. Kona alerted to the presence of controlled substances.

During a search of Rigsby’s vehicle, Officer Riley found a baggie containing a white crystal substance inside a bag that Rigsby was holding when the officer first approached her vehicle. The white crystal substance field-tested positive as methamphetamine and is being sent to an ISP Lab for analysis.

Rigsby was arrested and held without bond pending a court appearance yesterday afternoon. She has since posted bond and been released from jail.

Rigsby has been charged with possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony.
