Driver arrested after crossing left of center

After a driver was stopped for driving left of center early Sunday, he tested over the legal limit for alcohol and was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Zander Matthew Hall, 20, Linton, was arrested by Sgt. Bobby Pierce of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department early yesterday, Sunday, December 27.

Hall was the driver of a red 2020 Chevrolet Sonic that was pulled over around 6:48 a.m. in the area of County Roads 200 North and 1175 West.

Sgt. Pierce reported the vehicle was left of center and he initiated the stop.

Sgt. Pierce also reported detecting the odor of an alcohol beverage and that Hall exhibited other signs of impairment including glassy eyes and slurred speech. The deputy also saw alcoholic beverage containers in view.

Hall passed a couple of field sobriety tests, failed another and agreed to take a chemical test. Hall was transported to the Linton Police Department for the test – results showed he had a blood alcohol concentration of .10.

Hall was booked into the Greene County Jail at 8:38 a.m. His bond was set at $4,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. He has since posted $400 and been released.

Hall is scheduled to appear in Greene Superior Court in the morning to face charges of:

  • Operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Class C misdemeanor,

  • Operating a vehicle with an alcohol concentration equivalent to at least .08 but less than .15, a Class C misdemeanor, and

  • Operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person, a Class A misdemeanor.
