Jeffrey Ray Adams, 51, and Beth Ann Adams, 53, were arrested by Indiana Conservation Officer Cole Hollingsworth on Class A Misdemeanor charges of public indecency after an incident that occurred in the late evening hours of Feb. 1.

Hollingsworth was on routine patrol in eastern Greene County and was traveling south on North Viaduct Road. When he came around a turn just before the Tulip Trestle public observation deck, he witnessed a male, later identified as Jeffrey, standing outside the passenger side of the car. The passenger side of the parked car was open allowing Hollingsworth to see Beth sitting in the passenger seat. According to the probable cause affidavit, Jeffrey’s groin was placed in front of Beth’s face. Most of Jeffrey’s body, including his head, was outside of the vehicle. Only his groin area was inside the vehicle where Beth was sitting. Hollingsworth wrote it was evident they were participating in an oral sex act.

As Hollingsworth approached the couple, Jeffery quickly turned around, placed his genitals back into his pants, and attempted to zip his pants. He ran around to the driver’s side of the car and attempted to start it when Hollingsworth activated his lights.

As Hollingsworth approached the car, Beth shut the passenger door and Jeffrey attempted to put the car in gear. Hollingsworth identified himself as a conservation officer and told them to shut the vehicle off.

After providing the Adams’s information to Dispatch, Greene County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Jordan Allor informed Hollingsworth this was not the first time the two had been caught having oral sex in public. On Dec. 17, 2022, Deputy Devin Goad encountered the two participating in oral sex on Rubber Tree Road. At that time, according to the probable cause affidavit, Goad released the couple with a verbal warning.

Hollingsworth was joined at the scene by Greene County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Sipes and they both approached the car together when Jeffrey said he forgot to tell the office there was a marijuana roach in the center console. Jeffrey allegedly admitted the marijuana roach was his.

Deputy Kelly Hutchens of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department conducted a search of Beth while Hollingsworth conducted a search of Jeffrey. The search of Jeffrey turned up a pocket knife, money, comb, and a metal pill container with one pill Jeffrey referred to as a “boner pill”.

Jeffrey and Beth were both arrested by Hollingsworth and transported to Greene County Jail. Bond was set at $1,000 surety with 10 percent allowed for each. They both were released later the same day after posting $100.
