An upcoming event will give an opportunity for citizens to speak up during the Voices for Kids annual silent auction.

The auction, sponsored by Greene County’s Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), will be held Dec. 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the first floor of the Greene County Courthouse.

“All proceeds will go towards abused/neglected children in the Greene County child welfare system,” said Greene County CASA director Amber Spicer. “It is important to support CASA as these children often do not have everything they need/want at home or while in foster care. We strive to make sure these children live a life that is normal and healthy while also being given opportunities that they might not otherwise receive.”

Donations are being accepted until Dec. 2. Anyone wishing to make a donation can contact Spicer at 812-384-2036 or JeanAnne Sanders at 812-384-8774. Donations can be dropped off at the CASA office or arrangements for pick up can be made, Spicer said.

In past years, silent auction items have included gift baskets, quilts, gift cards, and more.
