Bloomfield man arrested on child sexual abuse material, methamphetamine charges
/A Bloomfield man was arrested Tuesday following a months-long investigation into the possession of child sexual abuse material.
According to the Greene County Sheriff's Office, Chad Rusher, 42, was arrested June 9 on five counts of possession of child sexual abuse material, Level 5 felonies, and one count of possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony.
The investigation began in February 2026 and was conducted by the Greene County Sheriff's Office, an affiliated member of the Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.
Authorities said the investigation identified Rusher as a suspect and ultimately led to his arrest.
Rusher was booked into the Greene County Jail following his arrest.
The investigation involved multiple agencies, including the Greene County Sheriff's Office, the Indiana State Police, the Monroe County High Tech Crime Unit and the Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
The Indiana ICAC Task Force is a multiagency initiative led by the Indiana State Police that investigates and prosecutes individuals who use the internet to sexually exploit or entice children.
According to the task force, investigators evaluate thousands of tips annually, investigate hundreds of cases and work to identify and rescue children who may be victims of ongoing sexual abuse.
Officials encourage the public to report suspected online exploitation, solicitation or enticement of children through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Reports involving children victimized through the internet or other electronic means may also be made to local law enforcement agencies.
