New entries on the morning Jail Log at the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on Tuesday, March 26, 2024:

March 25, 1 PM, Robert Oliver Joseph Simpson, 34, Jasonville, was arrested on a warrant for theft. His bond was set at $5,000 surety with 10% cash allowed. Greene County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Zach Mead was the arresting officer. 

March 25, 10:30 PM, Michael Wade Pate, 43, was was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of marijuana/hash oil/hashish/salvia and reckless driving. His bond was set at $1,000 surety with 10% cash allowed. He was released the same day after posting $100. Worthington Police Department Officer Caleb Ray was the arresting officer.

Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Individuals are booked into jail on warrants issued by courts or on “preliminary charges” based on recommendations of investigating or arresting officers. Charges may change when a new case is filed in court by the prosecutor who reviews the case and makes the charging decision.
