New entries on the morning Jail Log at the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on Thursday and Friday, May 18-19, 2023:

May 17, 2023, 9:22 PM, Eric Michael Smith, 29, Indianapolis, Indiana, was arrested on a warrant issued on a new charge of felony theft. His bond was set at $4000 surety with 10% cash allowed.

May 18, 2023, 8:23 PM, Macy Lee McBride, 28, Jasonville, Indiana, was arrested on a new preliminary charge of misdemeanor possession of a legend drug or precursor. Her bond was set at $1000 surety with 10% cash allowed. She posted $100 and was released later the same day. Linton Police Officer Mitchell Eberhardt was the arresting officer.

Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Individuals are booked into jail on warrants issued by courts or on “preliminary charges” based on recommendations of investigating or arresting officers. Charges may change when a new case is filed in court by the prosecutor who reviews the case and makes the charging decision.
