New arrests on the morning Jail Log at the Greene County Sheriff’s Department:

  • April 16 – Edward Dean Long, 42, Jasonville, Ind., was arrested on a warrant issued on an additional preliminary charge of felony dealing in methamphetamine in a case already involving charges of felony possession of methamphetamine, possession of a hypodermic syringe and maintaining a common nuisance, and misdemeanor hand gun license requirement, operating a vehicle without ever having received a license and possession of paraphernalia. He was being held without bond. Jasonville Assistant Police Chief Ryan Van Horn was the arresting officer.
  • April 16 – Benjamin Lewis Edwards, 41, Bloomfield, Ind., was arrested on warrants issued in two cases for failure to return to the Greene County Jail to resume serving sentences. He was being held without bond. Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy Harvey Holt was the arresting officer.
  • April 17 – Leonard Jason Corbin, 47, Bloomington, Ind., was arrested on a preliminary charge of misdemeanor domestic battery. His bond was set at $1,000 surety with ten percent allowed. Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy David Elmore was the arresting officer.

Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Individuals are booked into jail on warrants issued by courts or on “preliminary charges” based on recommendations of investigating or arresting officers. Charges may change when a new case is filed in court by the prosecutor who reviews the case and makes the charging decision.
