Former school employee arrested Wednesday is accused of sex crimes involving children

Around 5:30 p.m. yesterday/Wednesday, a man employed by a local school corporation was arrested and booked into the Greene County Jail on preliminary charges of felony possession of child pornography and child exploitation. He has since posted bond and been released from jail. According to the school’s superintendent, the man is no longer employed by the school.

A deputy who encountered an intoxicated man sitting in a ditch in the middle of the night, who could not walk unassisted and was confused about which direction he should go to get home, the deputy determined the man was a danger to himself and could end up face first in the dirt. The man was taken the hospital for a medical check then to jail for public intoxication.

A rural Bloomfield man is in jail as a result of an investigation by a GCSD detective into a break-in that caused substantial damage to two doors. The suspect allegedly said he broke in to the house because the voices in his head told him his brother was inside. In addition to charges of breaking and entering and criminal mischief, he’s facing a charge of theft for stealing a package of apple cinnamon bagels – taken in case his brother got hungry.

Bloomington, Ind. - With the new year in full swing, the Indiana State Police Bloomington District A.C.E.S (Aggressive Criminal Enforcement Section) reviewed their efforts in 2021. The team which was started at the end of 2016 by Sgt. Greg Day patrols all seven counties (including Greene County) in the district and consists of Senior Trooper Allen Deel, Senior Trooper Richard Klun and K9 Loki, Trooper Caleb Garvin, Trooper Chance Humphrey, Trooper Ian Portteus and K9 Zeus and Trooper Matt Hatchett and K9 Axe.
