Teleshia Shenae Hoesman, 34, Linton, was arrested on new charges early Thursday by Officer Joe Riley of the Linton Police Department.

Officer Riley, the investigating officer, and several other officers from the Linton Police Department and the Greene County Sheriff’s Department arrived at Schickel’s residence on West County Road 400 North in the Linton area shortly after 12:30 a.m. Thursday to serve the warrants.

Schickel was wanted on a warrant issued for failure to appear in court in a case involving felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. Another warrant was issued on a petition to revoke her bond in a case involving misdemeanor criminal trespassing. A third warrant was issued for failure to appear in court for her initial hearing on preliminary charges of misdemeanor theft and criminal mischief.

While officers were outside the residence and Officer Riley was talking to a man who said Schickel was not there but another woman and two other men were, GCSD Deputy David Elmore, also outside, could see through a window. Deputy Elmore reported he saw Schickel, the other woman later identified as Hoesman, and a man ingesting a substance through their nostrils. Then Officer Riley reported he also saw them and so did LPD Officer Kyle Robison.

The officers asked everyone inside to exit the house. The two men inside and Hoesman exited but Schickel did not.

Officer Riley reported that Hoesman said Schickel was not in the house and she hadn’t seen her for about two weeks. She allegedly said Schickel had been in Illinois.

Officer Riley and Deputy Elmore entered the house to serve the warrant and they reported finding Schickel hiding in a closet in a bedroom.

While they were inside, they saw evidence of drugs in plain sight including a glass smoking device, a large mirror with a white residue and tubing. The items field-tested positive for the presence of methamphetamine.

A search warrant was requested and approved. Officers reported finding additional paraphernalia, prescriptions and other items including some that were located inside Hoesman’s purse.

Schickel was transported and booked in on the warrants. Bond was set in two of the cases but in the case of bond revocation, she was being held without bond and remains in the Greene County Jail. She has hearings scheduled in all three cases later in November.

Hoesman was transported and booked in on the new charges. She was being held without bond pending her appearance in court. She is currently scheduled to appear in Greene Superior Court next Tuesday, November 12, for an initial hearing when she will be charged with:

  • Possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony,

  • False informing resulting in a substantial hindrance to a law enforcement procedure, a Class A misdemeanor, and

  • Possession of paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor.
