Man arrested after vehicle flips in Linton parking lot, faces OWI charges
/A 24-year-old Jasonville man was arrested March 20 after police say he crashed his vehicle, causing it to flip onto its side in a local parking lot while intoxicated.
According to court documents, Jordan Ray was arrested on multiple charges, including operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangerment, operating while intoxicated with a prior conviction within seven years, and operating a vehicle with an alcohol concentration of .08 or more, along with enhanced counts tied to a prior conviction.
Linton Police Department Patrolman Cade Herndon reported being dispatched around 11:05 p.m. Dec. 25, 2025 to American Rental on 12th Street Northwest for a vehicle on its side.
Upon arrival, officers located a silver passenger vehicle resting on its side in the parking lot. Ray was found standing next to the vehicle.
According to the affidavit, Ray told police he had been traveling east on State Road 54 when he went around a curve too fast, ran off the road and struck a pole, causing the crash.
Officers observed beer cans at the scene, including one in the parking lot and another inside the vehicle, according to the report.
Emergency medical personnel transported Ray to Greene County General Hospital. While at the hospital, officers reported detecting a strong odor of alcohol.
Ray agreed to a blood draw, and hospital testing indicated a blood alcohol concentration of 0.131, according to police. Results from the Indiana State Department of Toxicology later showed a BAC of 0.106.
A warrant for Ray’s arrest was issued March 11. He was taken into custody March 20 on the charges.
