Jasonville man accused of fleeing police while intoxicated to appear in court
/A Jasonville man is scheduled to appear in Greene County Superior Court on May 28 for an initial hearing following a vehicle pursuit and an alleged intoxicated driving incident in Jasonville.
Arthur Holstein, 24, faces preliminary charges of resisting law enforcement using a vehicle, operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person, and operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
According to a probable cause affidavit filed by Jasonville Police Officer Skylar Scott, the incident began May 21 when he observed a silver Honda Odyssey traveling 40 mph in a 25 mph zone on Main Street. Police allege the vehicle accelerated and failed to stop after emergency lights were activated, leading officers through several Jasonville streets before the vehicle stopped on Monroe Street.
Court documents state officers located an open Four Loko alcoholic beverage can inside the vehicle. Police reported Holstein showed signs of intoxication, including slurred speech, bloodshot eyes, and the odor of alcohol on his breath.
The affidavit states Holstein admitted he saw emergency lights behind him and told officers he was attempting to get home. A portable breath test reportedly showed a blood alcohol concentration equivalent of 0.169. Additional blood test results were pending at the time of filing.
