Greene County official to step down

A Greene County elected official, who has served the county for 14 years in two county offices, has announced his resignation effective July 31.

Greene County Clerk Stuart Dowden announced last month his intent to resign effective July 31. Dowden, a Republican, is currently serving his second term as clerk. He previously served two terms as Greene County Recorder.

In his resignation letter, Dowden said he appreciated the opportunity to serve the citizens of Greene County.
