Featured Dispatcher of the Month
Mitchell McKinney, PE 9171

Our most experienced midnight-shift dispatcher, Mitchell McKinney, started his career with the Indiana State Police on January 4, 2016.

A Bloomfield native, Mitch currently lives in Bloomington with his best furry friend Zeus!

Zeus is a 2-year-old German Shepherd/Husky mix with whom Mitch shares lots of good times, including going on runs (to keep them both in good shape), chilling at home, and teaching Zeus new skills and tricks.

Mitch also enjoys hanging out with his nephew Wesley.

When asked about his favorite part of dispatching, Mitch replied, “The satisfaction of knowing you helped the public by helping an officer.”

Mitch stays very focused on officer safety and goes the extra mile to get our Troopers the information and resources they need; many times before they even ask for it!

When asked where he sees himself in 5 years, he made his co-workers very happy by saying, "still serving with the Indiana State Police!"

Besides hanging out with Zeus, Mitch has other hobbies including lifting weights, shooting guns, playing video games and playing the guitar!

However, not verified, it has been reported that Mitch also enjoys cheating on board games! It is also a well-known fact that Mitch very much enjoys eating chicken nuggets!!

Region 3 Supervisor, Paula Summitt, says, “Mitch is an integral part of our dispatch center and is relied on and respected by his peers. We would like to recognize Mitchell McKinney as ISP Region 3 Featured Dispatcher of the Month! Thank you for your dedication, dependability, and service Mitch!”
