Alvin “Al” Richard Schwartz, 91 ½, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2022. He was surrounded by family in his final days and passed peacefully to his eternal home after a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis. Al was born September 30th, 1930 in Huntingburg, Indiana. He was the son of Alvin Joseph and Edna Victoria (Moenkhaus) Schwartz and the brother of Donald Donny Schwartz.

Donald Warren Sachtjen, 83, of Bloomfield, passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at Glenburn Home in Linton. Born July 29, 1938 in Madison, Wisconsin, he was the son of Warren and Helen (Hoffman) Sachtjen.

Donald served his country in the United States Navy and was a master gardener. He was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church. He was a consultant for the Locheed Martin Company retiring in 2006.

Surviving relatives include: his children, Gordon Sachtjen (Jeanette) of Cordon, Kentucky, Bud Sachtjen, Joe Sachtjen and Dylan Sachtjen all of Bloomfield; his grandchildren, Linda, Christopher, Sofia, Dacia, John and Tieje; great grandchildren, Jenevieve and Revan and a sister, Phyllis Archer of King of Prussia, Pennsylvania.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Susan Alice Sachtjen on March 29, 2017, one daughter, Sharon Sachtjen, a sister, Sharon Sactjen and his parents.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
