Larry Lee Goodman
/Larry Lee Goodman, 81, a lifelong resident of Bloomington, passed away at home on May 20, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Larry was born on February 27, 1944, in Bloomington to the late Paul and Velma (Ryan) Goodman.
Larry owned and operated his own upholstery business and would also repair wood furniture from time to time. He operated his business in Bloomfield and later relocated to Bloomington. Larry loved all animals, and he and his family trained and showed Quarter horses. He was a member of the National Quarter Horse Association and the Indiana Quarter Horse Association. Larry was a very giving and selfless man willing to help others in their time of need. He and his wife,Susan, fostered older children and would give them a second chance at training and showing horses. Larry helped create and coach the girls’ softball league in Bloomfield. Having a great sense of humor, Larry always made others laugh. Larry was the longest living pancreas transplant survivor in the US, leading the way for others needing a pancreas transplant. He was honored and fought hard for others who needed the transplant.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Susan “Susie” (Floyd) Goodman; Daughter, Christina “Christy” (Michael) Hilton; Grandchildren, Elaine (Cole) Hoffman, and Miles Hilton.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his grandparents and a brother, Joseph “Joe” Goodman.
Larry will be laid to rest at Valhalla Memory Gardens in Bloomington, his family will hold a celebration of his life at a later date.
