Douglas P. Neeley
/Douglas P. Neeley, of Bloomfield, Indiana, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2026, surrounded by those who loved him - following a courageous year-long battle with cancer. Born on November 12, 1959, in Hampton, Virginia, Doug lived a life defined by faith, devotion to family, and service to his community.
Professionally, along with his wife Becky, they owned and operated their own business, Reflections Unlimited, for 20 years. After Reflections Unlimited, Doug managed the salon business at J.C. Penney in Bloomington for 7 years. He was successful in business and his craft because his clients and employees were extensions of his family. He listened and had compassion for what they were going through in their personal lives, and always treated them fairly with respect and dignity. While Doug was working, he was also going to school to earn a degree in Computer Science. Most recently he dedicated over 20 years of service to SAIC, where he was respected for his commitment and work ethic.
Beyond his professional life, he found great happiness in spending time with his family, riding his e-bike, vacationing in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, and caring for his lawn with the help of his beloved robot lawnmower, affectionately known as “Sheldon.” As a self-proclaimed “foodie” he loved to try new foods everywhere he went. Doug enjoyed attending theatre productions from local High school plays, to larger productions at Beef and Boards in Indianapolis. Doug especially enjoyed attending shows at Shawnee Theatre in Bloomfield. Doug not only attended shows, but he and his wife Becky supported many local productions with their talents. In 43 years, Doug only missed 3 shows at Shawnee.
Doug's faith was a cornerstone of his life. For more than 50 years, he faithfully served as the pianist for Harvest Community Church, formerly known as Crane Village Church. Through decades of worship services, Doug's music touched countless lives and became an enduring part of the church's ministry. In all those years, he rarely missed a service, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to his church family and to sharing his gifts with others.
Doug was the beloved husband of Rebecca D. (Speck) Neeley and a devoted father to Bryce (Kathy) Neeley and Shelby (Cody) English, Brother to Mike (Kim) Neeley and Alan Neeley. He was a proud and loving Pappy to Keagan, Maddox, Blakely, and Mavis English, who brought him immense joy and pride. He is also survived by his extended family and his church family.
Doug was preceded in death by his father, Robert Neeley, his mother, Freda Neeley, his sister-in-law Lisa Neeley, and his Nephew Michael Decker.
Doug will be remembered for his steadfast faith, gentle spirit, dedication to his family, and the quiet consistency with which he served those around him. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched, the music he shared, and the family he cherished.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Harvest Community Church. Visitation will be held from 4pm-8pm Tuesday, June 16, 2026 and from 1pm to the time of service on Wednesday at Harvest Community Church. Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Doug's memory to Shriners Hospital for Children-Greenville, SC or The Salgi Esophageal Cancer Research Foundation.
