Woman charged with OVWI after receipt of blood test results
/After a woman was found passed out behind the wheel of a running vehicle last October, a blood sample was drawn and sent to the state for analysis. Results were pending but since they came back, she’s being charged with OVWI involving substances other than alcohol.
Angela Renee Allgood, 48, was booked into the Greene County Jail yesterday morning, Monday, March 2, on a warrant for her arrest that was issued on February 22. Her bond was set at $8,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. She posted $800 and was released the same day. Court records showed Allgood with a Bloomfield address, but jail records showed she has a home address in Elnora.
The warrant was issued on preliminary charges of: Two counts of operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person, one a Level 6 felony and one a Class A misdemeanor; operating a vehicle with a Schedule I or II controlled substance in the body, a Class C misdemeanor; and operating a vehicle with a Schedule I or II controlled substance with a prior conviction, a Level 6 felony.
The charges were filed as a result of an investigation by Deputy Marshal Wayman JR Blazier of the Bloomfield Police Department into an incident that occurred back on October 1. After the results of a blood sample analyzed by the Indiana State Department of Toxicology were returned, test results showed the substances in Allgood’s system at the time of the incident included: Alprazolam, a Schedule IV controlled substance; Oxycodone, a Schedule II controlled substance; Amphetamine, a Schedule II controlled substance; and Methamphetamine. Allgood did have prescriptions for alprazolam, oxycodone and amphetamine.
The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. on October 1. Officer Blazier was dispatched along with GCSD Deputies Davis Aerne and Zachary Goad to the Picnic Basket in Bloomfield where a woman, later identified as Allgood, was passed out behind the wheel of her vehicle.
Allgood was the driver of a white 2000 Buick that was running, in park, with the lights on. Officer Blazier reported Allgood exhibited numerous signs of impairment. She failed field sobriety testing but a portable breath test showed no alcohol use.
Allgood was transported to Greene County General Hospital for a blood draw which was forwarded to the state for analysis.
