Danny Ray Miller, 21, of Switz City, was arrested by Bloomfield Deputy Marshal Jordan Allor following a traffic stop late Friday, December 7.

Officer Allor was on patrol around 11 p.m. that night on West Main Street near North Cleveland Street when he saw a black 2011 Chevrolet Cruze traveling with no headlights or taillights on. Miller was the driver, pulled over on West Main Street near the west edge of Bloomfield.

Allor said when he talked to Miller, he detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Miller and he also noted Miller seemed to be in a confused state of mind. Miller handed over his insurance card and said he didn’t know where his registration was. But Allor had watched Miller pull the registration out of the glove box and set it on the passenger seat so he told him it was on the seat. The officer had to ask for his driver’s license twice.

When Allor asked how much he’d had to drink, Miller allegedly said he hadn’t had anything to drink, then later said he’d had a couple of shots at the bar.

After Allor checked Miller’s driving status, he asked him to exit the vehicle so he could check to see if he was alright to be driving.  Miller was allegedly stumbling and asked the officer if he needed his identification – Allor told him he’d already given it to him.

Miller reportedly failed standard field sobriety testing on the scene and tested at .177 blood alcohol concentration on a portable breathalyzer.

Miller was transported to the sheriff’s department where Allor said he again failed sobriety testing, then was transported to Greene County General Hospital for a blood draw – results are pending.

Allor noted Miller was convicted of operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person back on February 7 in Greene Superior Court.

Miller was booked in very early Saturday, December 8, to the Greene County Jail where his bond was set at $8,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. He was released that same day after posting $800 cash.

Miller appeared for his initial hearing in Greene Superior Court yesterday morning, December 13, and has been charged with:

  • Operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person, a Class A misdemeanor,

  • Operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person, a Level 6 felony,

  • Operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Class C misdemeanor, and

  • Operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a prior conviction, a Level 6 felony.
