Timothy Lee Williams, Jr., 33, Bloomington, was arrested by Deputy Marshal Brittany Ingram of the Bloomfield Police Department on Saturday night, November 7.

Around 8:25 p.m. last Saturday night, Officer Ingram, the investigating officer, was dispatched to 100 West Main Street in Bloomfield, the location of the High Rise apartments, about a man who appeared to be on drugs. When she got there, she was met by several people outside the building.

The residents told Officer Ingram there was a man inside the building who was asking residents for food and they were concerned about his behavior. While she was talking to them, the suspect came out of the building and walked toward Officer Ingram.

Timothy Williams was identified as the suspect who told the officer he came from “Angies,” meaning Aggies.

Officer Ingram said Williams was unintelligible while speaking and he was unable to control his volume. She said he was unable to form a complete sentence when trying to tell his story. Williams also showed other signs of impairment.

A records check revealed Williams was wanted on a warrant for his arrest that was issued out of Monroe County so he was asked to turn around and put his hands behind his back but he instead put his hands in his pockets and refused to show his hands after multiple orders.

When Officer Ingram reached for Williams to detain him, Williams screamed, “I can’t.” He then pulled away and ran. Officer Ingram chased after him, advising him numerous times to stop running. She deployed her Taser but that was unsuccessful.

Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy Devan Goad then arrived to assist and he joined in the chase. A citizen alerted Officer Ingram that Williams was hiding behind Aggie’s. Deputy Goad then located Williams and detained him.

Officer Ingram reported while she was on the scene near Aggies, multiple people told her they were in Aggie’s when Williams was there earlier. They said Williams was causing a scene and making people uncomfortable. They also said he appeared to be impaired while he was inside the bar.

Williams was transported to the Greene County Jail by Deputy Goad. Williams was booked in at 9:09 p.m.

Williams appeared in Greene Superior Court yesterday afternoon, November 12, and was charged with resisting law enforcement – knowingly or intentionally forcibly resists, a Class A misdemeanor, and public intoxication, a Class B misdemeanor.

His bond was set at $1,500 surety with ten percent cash allowed, but he’s also being held without bond for Monroe County where he has a warrant out in a case involving theft.
