Terry Lee Handley, 58, Jasonville, was arrested by Officer Skylar Scott of the Jasonville Police Department last Saturday morning, October 24.

Officer Scott was dispatched to an active physical domestic at a residence in Jasonville last Saturday morning. When he arrived, Handley was being held down on the floor by a man and a woman. The three individuals had gotten into an argument and Handley had asked the man to leave. The man did leave to go get a pack of cigarettes out of a vehicle then went back to the house but Handley had locked the door. The man began kicking on the door so Handley let him in.

The man allegedly made threats and Handley told the officer that he (Handley) got a can of wasp spray and sprayed the man’s head. He said the man and the woman then put him (Handley) on the floor and sprayed him in the face with the wasp spray then held him down until the officer arrived.

Handley said he didn’t want to press charges against either the man or the woman.

While Officer Scott was talking with Handley inside the residence, JPD Officer Jacob Gambill arrived and talked to the man and woman outside the residence. The man said he did want to press charges against Handley.

So the officers headed back to the house for Handley, but he exited out a side door, first walking away then running. He was ordered to stop but he kept running. Officer Gambill caught him and Handley was taken into custody.

Handley was booked into the Greene County Jail at 11:11 a.m.

Shortly after, when Officer Gambill returned to the residence to take a follow-up statement from the man who had said he wanted to press charges, the man said he did not want to press charges.

Handley’s bond was set at $1,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. He posted $100 and was released on Sunday, October 25.

Handley is facing a charge of resisting law enforcement – knowingly or intentionally forcibly resists, a Class A misdemeanor. He is scheduled to be in court on November 12 for an initial hearing.
