A Bloomfield man is accused of public indecency for allegedly having sex with a woman in the back seat of his vehicle while parked in front of a conservation officer in the parking lot of a popular restaurant.
Nathanael M. Borst, 19, rural Bloomfield, is being summoned to appear in Greene Superior Court in April for an initial hearing on a charge of public indecency following an incident investigated by Indiana Conservation Officer Kaley McDonald.
The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 22, when ICO McDonald was sitting in her fully-marked patrol vehicle in the parking lot of the Dairy Queen on West Main Street in Bloomfield. ICO McDonald was enjoying her food or treat from the DQ when she noticed the vehicle parked in front of her was moving side-to-side and bouncing aggressively.
ICO McDonald said the windows on the parked vehicle were highly tinted on the back and sides but due to the angle it was parked and the angle of the sun, she could see through the vehicle and nobody could be seen in the vehicle. She said the vehicle, a Ford Taurus, was parked parallel and next to the public sidewalk.
ICO McDonald got out and approached the vehicle. Close by, she could not see anyone inside through the tinted windows but when she knocked on the window and identified herself as a conservation officer, the vehicle stopped moving.
When she walked to the front of the vehicle, she couldn’t see anyone in the front seats.
About a minute later, a man later identified as Nathanael Borst climbed from the rear seat into the front seat and when ICO McDonald motioned for him to roll down his window, he opened his door.
Borst, who wasn’t wearing any shoes, allegedly said, “We were just talking,” while appearing to be sweaty and nervous. There was a female sitting in the rear passenger seat. Borst allegedly then admitted they were having sex.
No information regarding the identity of the female have been released, or her age, or if she might also be facing charges.
The charge against Borst of public indecency is a Class A misdemeanor.
