Bedford man arrested after meth found during Greene County traffic stop
/A Bedford man is facing felony drug charges after Indiana State Police said a traffic stop in Greene County led to the discovery of methamphetamine in his belongings.
According to a probable cause affidavit filed in Greene Superior Court, Tristan A. Hutcherson, 51, of Bedford, was a passenger in a 2015 Jeep Patriot stopped on Aug. 26 by Sullivan County Sheriff’s Deputy Cole Boatright. The vehicle was driven by 60-year-old William Hutcherson, who police noted was operating on a suspended license. Two other passengers were also inside the Jeep.
During the stop on County Road 1500 West, a police K-9 alerted to the vehicle. A subsequent search turned up a clear plastic bag containing a crystal-like substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine. Investigators said the drugs were found in a bag belonging to Tristan Hutcherson. After being advised of his Miranda rights, Hutcherson admitted that the meth and all its contents were his.
Troopers also reported finding additional methamphetamine, unidentified tablets, and cash on William Hutcherson during the stop.
Hutcherson is scheduled to appear in Greene Superior Court for an initial hearing on Sept. 2.
