Kimberly Sue Rifner

Kimberly Sue Rifner, 60, of Newberry, passed away Sunday, March 26, 2023 at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis. Born May 25, 1962 in Linton, she was the daughter of Wendell Eugene Jr. and Donna Sue (Toler) Carpenter.

Kimberly served at clerk at the Greene County Health Department for 16 years. She attended Harvest Community Church.

Surviving relatives include: her husband, Paul Edward Rifner whom she married October 19, 1985; one daughter, Lindsay Steelman (John) of Newberry; her grandchildren, Allison Grace and Emily Faith Steelman; her parents, Eugene and Donna Carpenter of Newberry; one brother, Tim Carpenter of Newberry; a niece and nephew, Samantha Carpenter and Eli Carpenter both of Newberry.

She was preceded in death by a son, Jarad Adam Rifner in 2011 and her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Harvest Community Church in rural Bloomfield, with Rev. Jeff Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Nebo cemetery.

Public visitation will be held from 4 to 8 pm on Friday and 1 hour prior to services on Saturday at Harvest Community Church in rural Bloomfield.

The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to the Harvest Community Church Outreach Programs in Kimberly’s name.
