Kevin Dean Deckard

Kevin Dean Deckard, age 53, of Bloomington, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He had his wife and two sisters by his side.

He was a dedicated worker at Pizza X for fifteen years before he became disabled. He loved to spend every moment possible in nature camping, fishing, swimming and hunting. He loved going on vacations with his wife.

He was born on April 30, 1972 in Bloomington, the son of Elmo and Wilma (Woolbright) Deckard. Both of whom precede him in death.

On September 25, 1993 at Shilo Temple in Bloomington, Kevin married Anita Shields. She survives in Bloomington.

Other survivors include: one son, Jason Deckard; one grandson, Ayden Trimble; three sisters, Joanie Trisler, Christina Skinner and Penny Grubb; and several nieces and nephews; Kevin had the pleasure of having 2 sweet girls named Kendallyn Trammell and Sophia Burton who called him papaw.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 27, 2026 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Interment will follow in Grandview cemetery in Bloomfield.

Public visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday and 1 hour prior to services on Friday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to Grandview Cemetery.
